Dealer Area

We are pleased to welcome you to be a Partner Bike Brand and offer Bike Leasing.

BikeFlex offers lease plans to businesses only. This encompasses fleets of cargo bikes and ebikes for business use, as well as company pool ebikes for staff use.

So how does Business Leasing work?

BikeFlex promotes business leasing and fleet solutions to companies UK wide, including handover and servicing that can be carried out at the business premises. As a partner brand we will promote your range on our website and in marketing we do.

NEXT STEPS - How to get started with Business Leasing

  1. We will promote leasing on your bikes to our customers.
  2. You can promote leasing on your website as follows;

We recommend you create a new page on your website called ‘Business Leasing’ and add the following text and quote calculator (which we will email to you) to your page;

"We are now able to offer Business leasing through our leasing partner BikeFlex".

Lease any of our range on 2 to 4 year business lease plans.

Get your lease quote on the form below and see how affordable business leasing is.

NB: we will email you your quote link and code if you want to embed the calculator onto your page

Customer Journey - Processing a customer for a lease

1. LEASE QUOTE

Customers can do a lease quote on your website. They are then emailed the instructions on completing their lease agreement.

2. LEASE APPROVAL

In most cases, approval will be done the same working day, and the customer will be emailed the confirmation, along with details of the final payment to take ownership of the bike at the end of the lease term.

3. BIKE HANDOVER

We can then arrange a handover date with the customer, either shipped directly to them or via collection from your nearest dealer or one of our business hubs. On the day of handover we pay you or your dealer for the bike.

NB: We work with bike brands and their appointed dealers as well as direct to consumer brands. We recommend you invite your appointed dealers to enrol for free on our website as a partner store. We can then provide leasing to their customers and also provide their store with new leads.

The process between you and us

When a customer proceeds with a bike lease, we will send you or your appointed dealer an order and a self-billing invoice for the bike. We will pay for the bike (less our commission as agreed), and the title for the bike will pass to us.

We then lease to the customer and handle their monthly payments, with risk managed by us.

Servicing

We recommend lease customers get their bike serviced every 6 months with their local dealer or via an appointed service centre.

Insurance

Insurance from Laka is offered by us for an add-on monthly price.

How lease quotes work

  1. Customers visit your business lease page and see the lease quote next to the bike.

  2. They complete the form on your site which sends us a lease enquiry.

  3. We then contact the customer to process their business lease application.

  4. We send you the order for the bike and agree a delivery/handover date with the customer.

  5. We payout to you on the day of handover of the bike, less our trade margin (as we agree with you).

What kind of businesses could qualify for a lease?

  • For people that run or own their own company, large or small as long as they are registered as a business at companies house and have a LTD, LLP or PLC number.

  • Leasing is perfect if you want to ‘cycle at work’ not just ‘cycle to work’ - so estate agents, store owners, hotels, freelancers, company directors and the self-employed.

  • Many of the 5m SME’s won’t have access to or qualify for a cycle scheme, business leasing is a great option for company directors.

  • You can ‘put an eBike your business, and benefit from significant tax savings by leasing an eBike or cargo bike through your business. eBikes are 100% tax deductible.

NB: eBikes are 100% tax deductible against your company’s tax bill and you can claim back the VAT (if vat registered).

What are the benefits of Business Leasing through BikeFlex?

  1. Cost-Effective: Leasing a bike can be more cost-effective than purchasing one outright, especially for businesses that need multiple bikes.

  2. Flexible payment options: this can be tailored to the lessee’s needs.

  3. Access to higher quality bikes: Leasing can provide access to higher-end eBike models that might be financially out of reach for an outright purchase. This allows businesses to enjoy the benefits of more advanced and feature-rich ebikes and cargo bikes.

  4. Reduced risk: Leasing a bike shifts the risk of depreciation and obsolescence from the lessee to the leasing company. This can be particularly beneficial for businesses that want to avoid the risk of owning outdated or obsolete bike models.

  5. Simplified disposal: At the end of the lease term, businesses can upgrade to a new bike on lease, and return the old bikes to the leasing company, eliminating the need to deal with bike disposal or resale OR you could decide to own the bike outright.

  6. Tax benefits: Leasing expenses can be tax-deductible for businesses, offering potential tax benefits for those using eBikes for commercial purposes. By taking out a lease, it also takes rental payments against the business, and not straight out of your pocket, making it far greater for working capital.

BikeFlex Business Leasing Hubs

The opportunity for business leasing to make ebikes and cargo bikes more affordable for companies of all sizes means that we want to open 'Business Leasing Hubs' across the UK.

Business Leasing Hubs will promote fleet solutions to local companies, including handover and servicing that can be carried out at the business premises. We'll work with you to promote to local companies in your region, including the estate and lettings agent sector.

As a Hub this also means we will promote you on our store list on our website and support you with marketing and client contacts through Arval. We announced our collaboration with Arval to offer ebikes and cargo bikes to their existing car and van business leasing clients when we were at the ebikesummit. This partnership was covered in Cycling Industry News and Cycling Electric.

What this announcement means for our Business Leasing Hub partners

BikeFlex will now focus entirely on lease plans for businesses only. This will encompass fleets of cargo bikes and ebikes for business use, as well as company pool ebikes for staff use.

This is a high growth sector and now with Arval on board to provide the lending as well as access to their existing client base, could be a significant opportunity for our partner stores to benefit.

If you're an existing partner store we will shortly be sending you flyers to promote Business Leasing as our local Hub. Any new enquiries please complete the form on this page; https://bikeflex.co.uk/pages/dealers
